Muffling the creaks

When riding, we can fixate on that creak, or that gear that isn’t quite indexed. Or, we can pedal in a different gear and tune out of the creak and into the birds. This week is one of those where the birds and the creak are doing battle, and somehow that bad gear is always the one that I really want to be in:
  • Glorious bike ride and skinny dip - tweet, tweet.
  • Van MOT passed - tweety tweet tweet.
  • New warning light on van - clickity creak.
  • Jack Daniels swigging youths at swimming spot - click click clunk.
  • New and fabulous watering can arrives - tweet!
  • More money spent, van warning light off - clunkety tweet.
  • Husband breaks arm - clickety clunk, clickety clunk.
  • Saw two swarms of bees and a moorland of fluffy bog cotton - tweety tweet bzzz
  • It’s the right arm, not the left one with all the metal in it already - tweet.
  • The sun is shining. Twitter.
The sun is shining. Outside is nice. Onwards, ignoring the clunks. All will be well…

I hope your week’s birdsong muffles the clunks. And if not, there’s always next week.
P.S. Learning point from this week: it’s really hard to get tadpoles out of your hydration bladder. Other receptacles for tadpole rescue in this dry weather are recommended.

Meet The Maker: Rasch Bikes - second ever frame!
Kata Rasch was at Bespoked Manchester with her steel brazed hardtail. As a new builder landing in a foreign land and having a whole bunch of people ask you about your frame in a second language, it must have been quite an intimidating experience. I persuaded her to submit to a few questions about her work. Kata: I make custom …
