The flying Frenchman, Cedric Gracia, has today announced another company that he is involved with. Únic is aimed at bringing riders custom mountain clothing at affordable prices.
If you’ve been looking through you mountain bike clothing wardrobe recently and thought about adding an injection of something new, then Cedric Gracia’s latest company could be who you want to contact. Únic, the word for ‘Unique’ in Catalan, is the latest brand that CG hast started to work with this year, and the aim of the company is to make custom clothing easy, fast and affordable.
The Únic website hosts its own custom clothing editor featuring templates that users can then customise to suit their styles. Custom options vary from template to template, but at the very least users are able to add their own name/team name, country flag, sponsorship logos and choose your own colours.
Once your design is finalized the patterns are then sent to Únic’s own factory in Poland where they will be custom made to your requirements using high-performance, lightweight and breathable materials. Check out the customization process in the following video.
Currently, Únic is offering custom shorts, jerseys, trousers and base layers for men and women, with a plan to add kids’ sizing in the near future. In a recent meeting I had with company owner Joonas, there was also talk of adding other clothing items to the range at a later date too.

Únic also plans to make its custom clothing available to as many riders as possible with pricing that is similar to many off the shelf brands. A full custom kit including both a jersey and shorts will cost around €199, shorts only €109, trousers €119 and jerseys will cost €89.

Unlike other brands offering custom clothing, Únic does not have a minimum quantity order. You can buy just one item of clothing and we will produce it from scratch according to your preferences. We design and manufacture our products in Europe for each individual order.
Únic produces shorts and trousers, long and short sleeve jerseys, as well as second skin base layers. All clothing is made from high quality fabrics that are breathable, lightweight and high-wicking, yet durable and resistant. Pretty cool idea, having just visited the site, a basic colour way, red base with black highlight across the chest, £94, you want logo’s, an additional 50 euro, and you have to have a picture of whatever logo you want, they don’t even have a library of the most popular, Fox etcetera, from which to choose, I imagine that is because of licensing, I’ll pass.
Such an unfortunate name…
I could see more value in being able to adjust leg, sleeve and back length to cater to riders of different sizes (as someone who always has trouble finding decent length shorts or trousers).
