Mark has been riding mountain bikes for over 30 years and co-owns Singletrack, where he's been publisher for 25 years. While his official title might be Managing Director, his actual job description is "whatever needs doing" – from wrangling finances and keeping the lights on to occasionally remembering to ride bikes for fun rather than just work. He's seen the sport evolve from rigid forks to whatever madness the industry dreams up next, and he's still not entirely sure what "gravel" is. When he's not buried in spreadsheets or chasing late invoices, he's probably thinking about his next ride.

  1. That seems reasonable. I still maintain that a life time ban from UCI or similar competition has to be part of the answer to this issue. The rewards for success are so great that if an athlete has to take two years off they can probably wear the break given the risk/reward imbalance as things stand.

  2. All good to hear. Be interesting to see how strictly it is adhered to.

Fair comment re the press release though – Big multi national company etc etc.

  3. Brilliant! So what about the translation – it’s the message that counts!
come on SRAM & Campag – step up and issue similar… NOW!

Maybe it’ll shame the UCI into action – 2 year bans are pathetic.
