The format is similar to the Kona Bristol Bikefest but adjusted to the time of year. For the 2009 event there will be the 10 hour enduro on Saturday followed by the 5 hour event on the Sunday. As an extra for the newcomers to endurance racing there will be the 3 hour long ‘Novice’ Endurance event which will also run on Sunday.

Only a couple of days now before the 1st Kona Mash-Up 2009 open its doors at the Glyncorrwg Mountain Bike Centre in Afan Forest near Port Talbot. The event is taking place on Saturday the 13th of June with the registration opening on Friday afternoon/evening.

The 1st Kona Mash-Up event of the season is only six weeks away with entries coming in thick and fast. So far the entries are suggesting a fairly even spread between the two categories on offer which will make for interesting racing on the trails where everybody rides against everybody.

2008 saw the launch of the much anticipated Kona Mash-Up. They’re back for 2009 with 2 events; a summer and winter round, and this time with an improved timing system including fibre optic timing on the Black Run. Both races will be held at Glyncorrwg Mountain Bike Centre in Afan Forest.
