Grinder 85-20Trail42 tech tees are difficult to find fault with. The selling point of bamboo shirts is that they don’t show sweat patches when you’re getting moist. But there’s a host of other reasons why you might choose a Trail42. The fabric is as soft as your favourite pyjamas. They wash well and look box-fresh after several sweatfests. They are long, skimming hips, so you don’t accidentally flash your stomach or lower back while riding. Also, the colours in aubergine (women’s fit) or green (men’s) are bold but not overbearing.

Female readers will understand how difficult it is to find a flattering T-shirt. This one ticks all my boxes. It’s cut to take account of boobs. The length of the shirt matters, but ladies normally need to risk length as a sacrifice for wearing a T-shirt that flatters a small waist. Thankfully, this one will keep you covered. It also looks like a casual T-shirt and not cyclewear. The seams and hems aren’t bulky, but are finely detailed with contrast stitching. The only thing I’m unsure of is the price – £35 is a lot for a T-shirt, even for one that performs as well as this. But if you do purchase one, you won’t be disappointed.

Overall: A shirt that looks good, feels comfy and fits like a T-shirt should.
