are any of the incarnations worse than others?
im looking at options instead of Fox 32 Vans, fit and forget is my first concern.

coils will be better than the airs. Look on mtbr as there are loads of threads in the 'suspension and tuning' section of the forum discussing the mods and reliability of the 55s

My coil 55's have been fine, does sound like I got lucky with them though.

I think the issues have been sorted out, only the first 'beta' versions that had problems, particularly the air ones

problems appear to be solved. at least my 09 55 ATA Micros have behaved impeccably since I got them.

seriously though, I'd wait until September and try to get a 2010 55 RC3 Ti…

Also, if you're looking for an alternative to Fox 32s then you want 44s, not 55s – the 55 is on a par with the Fox 36. At a claimed 1850g for an open-bath coil-oil 140mm fork, I'd be first in the queue for a 44 RC3 Ti if I had an appropriate bike on which to put it…

My 55 etas are on their way back to windwave after a week in the alps…after run number 3 they were running at about 30mm! they are coil one side and air the other. anyone else had this?
