  • Zero feedback eBay user – scam ahoy?

I’ve got a non bike related item for sale on eBay and have received a (reasonable) ‘best offer’, problem is the user has 0 feedback, a weird username and his postcode corresponds to London but it says ras beyrouth next to it, which according to Google is in Beirut.

Given how easy it has become for buyers to scam people on eBay (buy stuff and return empty boxes or broken goods etc, example on here a while ago when someone got returned their forks with a blown damper cartridge, eBay and paypal will always side with the buyer and refund it seems) and the fact this all seems a bit fishy am I right in thinking I should refuse? Not in a particular rush to sell but the money would be nice.

I’ve sent him a message to investigate but obviously whatever he replies won’t necessarily be true!

Chances of it being a scam: 100%

Why not dismiss the offer in confidence that you will sell eventually? You say yourself that you’re not in a particular rush.

EDIT: Come to think of it, I’m surprised you felt the need to ask on here.

I know, now I read my post back to myself it was a silly question really!
