Have convinced my better half I need a new bike, max ~ £2k and these 2 seem to best fit the bill. Ignoring the stock issues does anyone have any experiences of either? Heard the YT has tempermental BOS suspension, had ruled out fox til I rode a 34 and was suitably impressed.
Im used to riding my Brodie 140 hardtail on FOD singletrack and local malverns so getting up stuff is important but I want this for going down stuff, am happy to push up if needs be!
Rode a cube stereo 160 carbon as a demo (thanks PABA workshop manager for lending me his when the fritzz was broken!) and ripped down my favourite descents and hopped off anything I could find this weekend, gonna demo a mega and a 29er to ensure im making the right decision.

Do you really think they’re two of the same kind? I personally wouldn’t compare them against eachother.

Theres no BOS anywhere on that YT.

I personally don’t rate the after sales stuff with YT too highly, if you think you’ll be needy after you’ve bought it go with canyon.

Two nice bikes there. Will be hard to find anything else with a similar level of kit.

I reckon that Strive AL wont be back in stock. Canyon just released a new carbon Strive with a magic link thing. I suspect the new Strive ALs will have this configuration.

Maybe check out the Ghost Cagua 650.

ryderredman – Yes, that would be why i suggested them both as options to buy to do the same job, otherwise id have suggested i dont know a spoon and some spam.
No on that YT there isnt any bos but on this spec one there is, which is why i was asking if it was just down to the BOS or down to the bike.

No i think if the frame breaks then id like some recourse, otherwise id just buy 2nd hand.

The reach and front centre of the two bikes are very different, although the angles are quite similar. I was pondering the same questions and had ngging concerns that the YT might end up causing me grief and that the Canyono would be safer.

Others to consider are Saracen Aerial, Mondraker Dune (poverty kit spec but awesome frame), Kona Process etc

If I was patient I would’ve waited for the cheaper ally Strive’s to be release but I bought a 29er Enduro…beats waiting!
