My dad’s second cousins wife is the great grand-daughter of Gladstone.

A bloke I shared a flat with when I was a student was at school with John Cummings out of Mogwai.

Subsequently I worked (in a different city) with a bloke who did the same degree at a different uni, and was also at school with John out of Mogwai.

I used to live across the road from a lady whose brothers best mate went out with Kylie Minogue (but she never dropped by for tea).

Michael Aspel did a ‘This is Your Life’ in my kitchen on Linda Barker.

My cousin made a thunderbirds figure in the image of Adrian Chiles which was featured on his new morning TV show recently.

My aunt & uncle used to live in London with Wendy Richards & the drummer from Def Leppard as neighbours. When staying up there for the weekend they got Wendy Richards (Pauline from Eastenders) to babysit me & mys sister.
We stayed round hers & all I can remember were lots & lots of frog toys, ornaments, pictures, cushions. She loved frogs apparently…

One of my best mates (and occasional poster here) is in a band with the current Fall guitarist.

I was featured in the ‘Boys Bonanza’ section of the April 1991 issue of Mizz magazine.

I once shook hands with Penelope Keith.

It’s suppose to be “your most tenuous connection to someone famous”

I spent some time in prison with one of Dexy’s Midnight Runners.
This is the winner so far for me.

    Really?

Actually, I think I can outdo myself.

I bought a second hand alternator from a commercial vehicle breaker who’s been killed by Indian Jones three times, and his yard is (or was as he actually is dead now) across the road from the prison

I’d say being in the same class as some not even z-list celeb who was the brother of someone slightly famous was a pretty tenuous connection?

My Mrs went to the loo at a 6 nations match at Twickenham in the next stall to Judith Chalmers off of the telly.

My wife’s second cousin won an Olympic Gold medal in 1964. I’ve never met him.

We once left our kids at a friends house looked after by a baby-sitter who also did baby-sitting for Boris Johnson – who we’ve never met.

I gave my old Bass amp and cab to a bloke whose first album sold 7 million about 8 years later. But I hadn’t seen him at all in the meantime.

    Say what now?

Pat Roach – wrestler, actor (Clockwork Orange to East Enders) and specialising in fist fights that result in his gruesome death in each of the first three Indiana Jones films ( as a bald nazi getting chopped up by the propellors of a plane in the first one, and a turbaned chappy getting squished in the second one and I can’t remember how it gets his come uppance in the third), all this whilst running a commerical vehicle breakers yard in Winson Green

Anyway heres a tenuous brush with fame for anyone reading this……. My Starmeter on Internet Movie Database has gone up 16% in popularity this week

Oh, and I bumped (literally – drinks spilled and secret service blokes getting tense) into Tony Blair in the Red Lion in Sedgefield when he was PM.
