Following on from the cheese on toast thread, and the abysmal excuse for one that was my lunch, indulge me with details of the finest sandwichery you have ever encountered.

(I know it’s been done before, but I like sandwiches and it’s been a while. Plus I want to erase the memory of the abomination that I had for lunch)

Mine? Bacon, Brie, Avocado, tomato, lettuce and cucmuber, with a smattering of mayo, on a soft Ciabatta roll.

    Carry on…

Bacon sausage and egg. Sausages MUST be Debbie & Andrews Perfect Pork, bacon must be rindless back and the egg must be fried and runny.

    Jamie Oliver’s steak sarnie,

    2 x 300g (10½oz) best-quality rump steaks
    2 sprigs of fresh thyme
    1 ciabatta loaf
A small handful of jarred peppers
A couple of sprigs of fresh flat-leaf parsley
    Horseradish sauce, to serve
A large handful of prewashed rocket, to serve

From his 30 min meals book, goes really well with the other courses.

there is only bacon and fried egg.
dress it up however you want – in its pajamas, in a frilly dress, in its Sunday best.
as long as there’s bacon and there’s egg.
