Evening all,

A friend and I have decided to give this bike packing malarkey another crack (last time was on the West Highland Way).

As he lives in Scotland, and I live in the Midlands, we’ve decided to meet somewhere in the middle(ish) so are thinking either Yorkshire or the Lakes.

The idea would be drive there for mid morning on day one, ride out for the day (say 30 miles), bivvy overnight, then back the next day to the cars. Hotel that night and then a trail centre on day three (in the morning) and drive home in the afternoon.

Has anyone got any suggestions on where would be a good location or a good route?
