We did this over three days, staying in Addingham, Singleton and Reeth. Cracking weekend.

Pretty much any route of that distance in the Dales will require riding from one Dale to another which will involve some often steep climbs. There are generally few roads leading from one dale to another so you’ll end up either repeating some passes or doing them in both directions.

Other routes that you might want to check out are “The King of the Pennines” (AKA Ride with Hoy) which is 100 miles and the Petit Depart (80 miles) sportives.

A good base would probably be Hawes. Central and plenty of pubs. There’s a decent campsite at Gayle, about a mile out of town, if you are camping.

western Dales gives options for circuits that include many of the big climbs – Coal Road, Kingsdale, Fleet Moss etc. Easy to work out routes. I’d base myself near Hawes or Upper Wharfedale (Kettlewell etc) depending on what sort of accom you want and availability.

Basically, just ride anywhere, it’s all good. 3 solid days of that length should get you round quite a lot of it. Hawes give you lots of riding in all directions. I particularly like Littondale and Dentdale, pubs for lunches and lovely scenery.
