How can the people who live there think it’s the best country in the world when it’s so **** up?
While crime is an important consideration in people’s perception of what constitutes a great place to live in it quite understandably goes beyond just that.
I have to say that while there is clearly much wrong with US society and US government policies I find the endless slagging off of the US quite tedious, specially as it often done from a position of undeserved self-righteous arrogance.
There is plenty here in the UK that we rightly should be ashamed of, growing inequality, food banks, loutish juvenile behaviour, pretentious middle values/the British class system, warmongering prime ministers, unelected House of Lords, a feudal monarchy, the Daily Mail, the list is quite frankly endless.
It doesn’t mean however that we in the UK have nothing to be proud of or that the UK can’t be seen by the majority of the population as a great place to live in.
