  • XTR mech compatability??

    I’ve just been building a bike and I am struggling to get the mech to cover the distance over the cassette. It is a Shimano RD M980 with a sram 9spd cassette. I have a Saint 9spd shifter. The mech wont pull over much past the fifth cog but will go past the first (largest 34t cog).
    Is it possible to adjust or is the shifter not compatable?

    The RD M980 is a 10 speed mech. Will not work with 9spd shifters as it uses a different cable pull ratio to the 9spd mechs.

    you’ve got a 10 speed mech. it won’t work with 9 speed.
