Anyone know if this is possible? I’ve been offered a cheap m9000 double crankset which I’d want as a single ring setup .

Can it be done or are the double and single m9000 crank arms different?

Wow, it looks even worse than the original Shimano toilet seat!

Same crank arms, so you can run Shimano DCE rings or aftermarket ones as above.

I’ve done this on 3 bikes. It works fine.

Had one of these for about a year:

    XTR M9000 Chainrings

Mounted on a 2x crank. All good…and colour-matched to XTR too.

Anyone know what the difference in chain line is between the crank designed as a 1x and the double set up as 1x?

It’s the same crank. The chainring corrects the chainline.
