Came off my bike and hit the left hand rear brake lever, the lever did not bend or brake but the lever now has about 30mm of play in it before it bites and flaps around, it still brakes perfectly but rattles like buggery. You cant take the slack out by adjusting the reach of the lever.

I think the threaded rod that goes into the lever is bent that actuates the piston???

Any ideas if you can get spares or anyone got a 2nd hand lever or if the prognosis is correct?

    Any help please, cheers. 😀

Pretty sure you can’t get Shimano brake spares. New lever time…
Developed a fault on my XTs, had to replace the whole shebang.

Find the part number from the Techdocs then you can take the numbers to any good LBS who has a Madison account (should be all of them) and if Madison bring it in, you should be able to get it. You can also check the cost on the Madison site

Would look at the cost of any spares vs a new lever

Educated guess, I suspect you’ve distorted the washer that holds the ball joint of the push-rod into the piston, usually repairable by removing the lever blade, removing the retaining circlip and washer, and hammering it flat on an anvil or similar.
