So I have an XT chainset and noticed that there is a small amount of run out on the outer chainring causing the chain to slightly rub on the front mech. This is at most about 1mm. Not sure how this happened but may be because of an off. Is there an effective way of straightening it or is it best to simply adjust the reach of the mech?

Any ideas from the early risers?

At 1mm I’d leave it alone. You can probably cause more runout pushing big gears. You had me worried, I thought they’d stopped making spares for a moment.

Cool. I was quite surprised at the apparent ease that it’s been bent though.

Careful bending with an adjustable spanner may help.
