Thinking of removing my 44t ring on my XT M770 chainset but not sure what bolts or spacers i need to use or where to get them. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

so you'll be using an inner ring and then a bigger ring in the 'middle' ring position?

You need single speed chainring bolts – ebay (charliethebikemonger) for a fiver or so.

Going to keep with the inner and middle rings in there original positions but i guess i will need shorter bolts as at the moment they go through the outer ring or need spacers to take the place of the outer ring?

Or put on a bash ring instead of the outer ring.

Shorter, yes.

That's exactly what I have. No need for a bash. Narrow/ss chainring bolts is all you need.
