kids under one do not need any presents, they need cold hard cash which will accumulate interest over many years meaning that your gift may grow and provide them with some welcome money to pay for their university education.

I’d be worried they wouldn’t appreciate such powerful wind harnessing toys.

Cash isn’t happening but I do agree it’s probably the most sensible gift to help a child but I want something for them to get instant gratification over.

Yeah, you’re right. Kids can be so ungrateful these days.

Bath toys, our one year old is never happier than when playing in water.

Bath toys – always a winner. Or poster paints, sponges & A3 paper. App Store voucher (via mum and dad obviously) so they can get ad free puzzle type games etc for 5 mins peace. Automatic Bubble machine type thing. Fake fruit and veg type stuff from IKEA.

A set of ten stacking buckets, like these…..

    Bazillion buckets….

Of all the baby toys we’ve ever bought for our kids, these got played with the most.
They were stacked up on the living room floor when I got home the other day. My youngest is nearly 8.

Lamaze toys are always good – Captain Calamari is a favourite.

Otherwise, a friend’s uncle bought him a bottle of nice burgundy to be opened on his 18th birthday. I always thought that was a nice idea.

No – we gave one to a friend and they gave us one back – Squid pro quo.

Whatever you get, the thing they will play with most will be the cardboard box and wrapping paper

We got my daughter a VTech Toot Toot Fairy thing for her 1st birthday at the end of Oct and she loves it.
All the Toot Toot stuff looks good.

Bath Toys always seem to be well received.

Books – particular favourites at the moment:
    Little Lost Penguin
    No Bed Without Ted
Row Row Row Your Boat musical book from M&S

One of her Christmas pressies will be a big box of Duplo.

We also bought her an elephant fountain thing from Argos for her birthday that fires soft plastic balls out of the spout…..it terrifies her because there’s no warning it’s about to fling a ball out & when it does it make a loud banging noise..she cries every time we turn it on. Thought she might get used to it, but clearly a sensitive soul….! 😆

Something they can open on their 18th.

    Port? Whiskey?

    Other than that.

    Cardboard box for the kid.
Electric noisy toys if you want to laugh at the parent
