Evening all, have finished building up a hardtail for xc duties and am now thinking of changing the wheels on it to use in a few events. atm it’s running 719’s on xt hubs but i fancy something a bit lighter to knock the weight down. trouble is i weigh in at 15s. Am i to big to be bothering with 717’s? or are some nice Stan’s ZTR 355 to delicate?. I think i’m settled on the hope pro 2 hubs, just wondering about rims now.

15st doesn’t make you a bloater,,, unless you are under 5’10” just big boned.

Sorry no idea about the wheels 🙄

would avoid stans because of the lack of eyelets.

I am well over 16st and have always run 3, 5 & 717s with no problems. You do hear lots of nonsense being talked about heavier riders being too heavy for this or that, but on the whole that’s what it is, nonsense
