I’m going to change my 32t chainring for a 30t.
Will I need to shorten the chain, or will there it be tight enough as it’s only two teeth?
I don’t want to mess with the chain straight away incase I want to go back to the 32t.

I changed mine without shortening don’t seem to have been a problem assuming you shortened it correctly for 32. One tip, you will need to drop the chain completely off the crank to get the 30t over the spider. I did it when changed cassette and chain so all new gear.

+1 for dropping the chain off.

Also, you need to rotate the cranks to get the 30t on as it seems like an impossible fit to the ease with which the 32t is removed. I was almost at the point of removing the cranks (following advice on other forums) but I can assure you it is 100% possible to get it on without removing the cranks.

Just get a second chain, then you can just change it around when you want and don’t have to worry about getting the correct chain length again.
