So as the title said really, Kinda like, WTF! But i can't say whether or not he would be a good president.

Still pisses me off a little when pop stars think they are politicians. Thing is, if the Haitian youth actually vote i'd say he stands a decent chance. He'd need to surround himself with some seriously savvy people if he is to actually make changes in what is ostensibly a troubled nation.

Interesting to know your thoughts on this.

    Cheers, Al.

Well, at least he has the right reasons and intentions. It's not like he needs the money. Bloody hard job ahead for someone and good luck to them whoever it is.

He bought a McLaren F1 so he gets my vote.

Yeah that was my first thought, and Arnie. But bear in mind we're talking about Haiti, which is very civilised in comparison 😉

George Weah ran for the presidency of Liberia. His only major qualifications seemed to be playing alongside Shaun Goater for Man City, so that he at least knew about feed the goat and he will score.

He didn't win it, but I think the point was that with some countries – Liberia, California – previous politicians have been so tied up with the gangs/ political elite/ special interests that it takes someone of independent means to split away from the corrupt system that has been before.

Which would be great, if Wyclef's "not-for-profit" hadn't been found to have engaged in some remarkable naughtiness in the past (see Gawker reporting), or if all that were needed were integrity, or if Wyclef wouldn't have to rely on a shallow pool of (possibly) qualified people and an assembly that is composed of existing political factions.

There have been enough Military Personnel rise to power over the years.. wholly unsuitable previous experience IMO..
And all of our high ranking politicians tend to be from the thoroughly corrupt and heartbreakingly ruthless Eton/Oxbridge elite criminal supergang's specialist breeding programme..
Wyclef.. as a lyricist will have had plenty of training in the speechwriting department.. and seems like a good egg with a massive love of Haiti and an understanding of it's problems on a grass roots level..

Maybe it's the way forward.. what about that guy from N-dubz.. maybe he could be next London mayor? Or how about Florence and her machine..? she seems to have enough almost militantly fanatical supporters on this site alone to propel her into power on a wave of heartfelt hysteria at the next general election.. or will her backers have moved onto the next big thing by then?

We could branch out into the world of TV too.. Ant and Dec have a loyal following.. enough to gain a few seats at least.. or my hot tip.. Mr Tumble from C-beebies.. he's a genuinely nice guy.. you can see it in his smile… and he's reaching a very young section of future voters too..

food for thought.. (speaking of which.. what about Ainsley Harriot.. he seems to be at a loose end these days)

Maybe he could make himself president and have Bozo(Bono) as his PM?

i suspect marrying into the political elite and the closest thing the USA has to royalty probably made some small difference.. 😉

Ye-es, but honestly, when you're Arnie, you don't necessarily need to improve your name recognition…
