I've got a spare set of the 2009 ones. Done about 30 miles!

Is it a speculative thing? If you've got the older ones and they've gone, drop Cotic a line, mine was out of warranty and they still gave me a free replacement without a second's hesitation.

@rob2 - Are they the older un-beefed ones? If so, still got my ones thanks.
@Northwind - Yep, speculative...current older-style ones are fine if not a bit twangy on certain trails. I did drop Cotic an email...I was quoted for new stays (chain or seat) £175 each or £300 for both

Aye, the new ones are a fair bit stiffer... Though TBH I thought the old ones were fine, apart from the bit where they broke in half. Also less mud clearance though on the new ones.

Yeah, the old ones are fine...just that weird experience in tight fast cornering where it's almost like somethings loose but it's not. Long term I liked to get the updated stays partly because if I went away for a biking holiday/weekend I'd worry that I'd be bikeless if they broke.
Great bike...I love it. Just a few niggles (There's the fact my feet always seem to clip the seatstay which makes a change from other bikes where they clip the chainstay) and got to think longish term now they're out of production.
