her legs aren't very long so i want to try her on shorter cranks and see if she is more comfortable. Anything considered, preferably with BB but budget will be the limiting factor.

Depends what you class as 'cheap'? I replaced the cranks on the GF's bike with some 170mm FSA ones off the OnOne site for £65 and they seem very nice. I still have the 170mm Octalink Cranks they replaced if you wanted something basic. Came of a Spesh Myka Pro. No BB though as it was dead.

Got some Deore Octalink cranks (170mm) with bottom bracket that's had about a month's worth of use. £35 plus post.

dont want to pee on anyones bonfire but CRC got FSA Moto XC including BB for £40..
And a gamma drive chainset for £30 but think you would need the right BB on top of that.

yep, basic is the plan for now, we can spend more money later if required.
Mr Tall - how much are you looking for? Do they have rings? Any pics?
