WTD – Hope XC bearing tool (for 6001 bearings)

Does anyone have a proper Hope bearing support bush tool for pressing in 6001 bearings that they no longer want?

My socket set tapers too much at the end and pushes against the seal rather than sitting squarely on the inner and outer rings. So, I could do with using the proper tool to avoid damaging the seals. Many thanks.

freeze the bearing overnight,,,boiling water on the hub body,,,bit of grease on the bearing,,and it will virtually drop in,,you can tap the outer race so it sits all the way in,,

use a old bearing to press the new one in with.

But I have to replace the bearings on my hope s/s cassette and I will give bluemooners tip a go with boiling water ( I do freeze the bearings anyway)

Just done it froze the bearings as usual and the bearings slid in a beaut

Good job I put the kettle on because I had a cup of tea minutes later
