My old commuter frame has cracked and I am thinking about replacing it with a ti van Nicholas and swapping wheels and group set. One attraction is 25 year warranty but is it worth shelling out over 1000 pounds now for a non disc frame. In 5 years will calipers be verging on obsolete?

You can still get V-brakes, years after mtb discs became common place, so why would calipers be obsolete in 5 years?

Does it matter if they still work and you can still get brake pads?

Or, there’s surely enough framesets available now with disc mounts if you want to be future proof?

Depends how much you value instant wet weather braking.

I would value it a lot. Scottish though so not having to spend on brakes and wheels holds a lot of value as well!

I know the answer really just looking for other opinions
