  • Wrong colour varnish on floorboards, best way to remove

This week I have repaired and sanded down the floorboards in a room. They had previously been varnished but were in poor condition so I rented the big belt sander.

Last night I varnished it with some Ronseal floor varnish, it was the same type as I previously used in the hallway but it has come out a lot darker than the hall and i hate it.

I want to remove the varnish and then redo in clear.

Will I need to hire the big belt sander again or do you think I could remove it with one of the following (which I already have)

    A) paint stripper
    B) a small belt sander
    C) a DA sander

    Cheers
    Paul
