I write to my Granny (she live in South Africa) and she writes back on those blue telegram things that you fold up. She always makes the most of the space available as though blue telegram things are being rationed.
Also she always does a little doodle next to the bit where you write the address.
I love seeing them on my doormat when I get home.

Another ex of mine moved to Oz upon the completion of her PHD in pig farming 😀 Every month, the sellotape-wrapped envelope would arrive – it was always yellow – it was always stuffed with buds of the best quality.
