    Pointless topic, but is it?

I can count on my hand the days where the sun has actually been visible.

    Grey + Rain = Miserable 🙁

On a lighter note I’ve heard London is baking! shame I’m miles away..

Well, it’s certainly been pretty crappy, but worst ever might be stretching it, there are many instances of dreadful summers where entire food supplies have been devastated across Europe, leading to widespread starvation. There have been terrible summers over the last 2-300 years, so crappy, but not the worst ever.

giz some blue sky in Lichfield!

I know I know, clearly I meant the term in a jovial ‘British summer’ way 😉

It has been pretty grim, but it only takes a day like today to forget.
It’s been all cancelled XC races and cautiously ridden road races.

Over 30 deg on the dial down on the Kent coast. It’s not been a ‘great’ summer but the last few weeks have been lush and before that the rain was warm. I love living in a marine climate.

I work outdoors all day every day and this has been the worst summer for a long time. Talk of food shortages 100 years ago is irrelevant as we have better distance supply chains now, so we have probably had a worse summer this year than most of those which resulted in starvation!

The met office would know for sure anyway.

Oh, and this year I can categorically state that Fridays have been the worst day of the week for rain!

Cloudy but not too bad. Long ride last week in sweltering heat and baking sun. Came back burnt as a crisp. Summer is overrated.

If we had to rely on our veggie patch we would be very hungry this year.

And fruit trees have really suffered… a combination of mild winter and soaking summer have ruined them this year.

Sounds like most of you have had a cracking day weather wise then! I did a couple of hours…never been so sweaty from the humidity…grey and rainy…got back…and the sun came out! Obviously mother nature has seen my post and adjusted accordingly 😈

Paddy I’m just down the road from you, Four Oaks, and as far as I am concerned its been fine. If I could I would happily have been out riding 3 times a week all summer.

It’s not the worst summer ever.

War has not been declared, no pandemic has occurred, no terrorist outrage has been commited (in the UK), the economy isn’t much worse than it was in the spring.

It’s just been very wet, and disappointing, but a little perspective – in March this year my area was facing a hosepipe ban!

I’ve ridden 13 miles to a bbq and back today without getting a soaking, which means that summer has been alright so far!

refer to ^ and “and the sun came out” lovely afternoon/evening it turned into.

    I’m over towards Barton-under-Needwood I_Ache.

I think ideas are changing on what actual summer weather is!

I’ll pass on Norway winters, although I’d love to visit this time of year 🙂
