Im looking to build a workshop with a loft space for storage.

But not too sure how to go about it.

Has anyone do this before or have any useful info?

    Thanks

There’s a good chance you will need planning permission depending on your location and exact plans. Good idea, though. Loads of extra space.

I built a slatted “ceiling” into my shed in which I can store all our camping kit, bike bags, bits and pieces I want to keep clean and dry rather than put in the garage. The pitched roof I built out of trusses, the bottom tie beam of each holds the slats up. There’s a square hole in the middle for access on a step ladder/standing on a milk crate.

Have a search for “rate my brickie” and all will be revealed and you may feel a little unworthy.

Ah yes, workshops with roof space. I went for an open design, with the option of a Mezzanine floor, which I’ve not put in yet.

Rather than using traditional A frames, it’s an open roof space using RSJs to hold the rafters in place:
