Just been discussing homonyms, homophones, antonyms and synonyms with my 13 yr old son at the dinner table and started wondering which word has the most different meanings for one spelling and which word has the most meanings including homonyms and homophones. Any answers before I Google?

I remember hearing that the word set has the most meanings/uses

Interesting. I can't think of more than two meanings for 'rose' though.

rose bit on end of watering can
….can't think of any more. I probably read it somewhere…

Hadn't thought of rows, but when thinking about it, I discounted using rose to describe 'flower like features' such as ceiling rose as I felt it wasn't truly a different meaning…
