I’m running a cycling festival for Macmillan Cancer Support in September and i’ve put our website together with WordPress using the Avada theme. i want to take online payments for entry but haven’t got a clue how to do it or where to start.

does anyone else run payments through WordPress? what’s a good/the best/easiest/securest way to do it?

You only want to take payment for one product? Just create the product in PayPal and they will give you some html to insert a button onto your page. Anything else is more complicated.

Sightly more funky? Create the event in Eventbrite and link/embed that event. It’s pretty good.

If you *really* want to spend hours, wooCommerce.

actually, there are about 4 rides that i want to sell entry for. could that be done through Paypal?

i had a look at Eventbrite and it looks like i would post a link on my site for entry on Eventbrite. is that correct? have you used it?

    i really don’t want to/can’t spend hours.

You can create 4 Paypal buttons yes (biz user): https://developer.paypal.com/docs/integration/web/

Or you could use the build in shop for your theme: https://theme-fusion.com/avada-doc/special-features/woocommerce/

Eventbrite has done all the hard work for you already. Link your WordPress site to an Eventbrite page you’ve setup
