    evening,
i have found myself in need of a small bandsaw for cutting hardwood?stabilised woods. after reading some of the reviews it seems that the smallest axminster one may not be as good as it looks especially for a novice bandsaw user. so whats the recommendation for a couple of hundred max?
    cheers

Can you stretch to a a Record Power BS250 £260 ? 5 year warranty and great backup , all the cheap saws have stories of problems and then you depend on the customer service to sort it.
Otherwise look for second hand Inca or Record Power – regularly available second hand.
Use Tuffsaws for blades – great value and performance.

Avoid anything with 3 wheels unless you enjoy a challenge.

    Ukworkshop forums to research

I have a Record BS250 I bought second hand, and like many hobbyists cast offs, it had hardly been used. It is an excellent machine. Obvously a new one has the warranty, but mine was less than half the new price.

I bought a cheaper Bandsaw a few years ago. tbh It’s never been accurate enough.

Now looking for another one – likely be something far bigger (I’ve plenty of space) off ebay.
