How much does your stove produce?

Mine seems to produce quite a bit recently, does this mean my wood isnt dry enough or maybe flue needs a clean?

Its a Morso Stove which is supposed to double burn/recycle, and i need to chnage the ash pan every 3 or 4 fires. I am sure when 1st installed it was much less.

Also do you clear out your ash or just re-build the next fire on top of the ash pile?

Get the fire hot first with plenty of oxygen in the burn, then shut down all the air so that you are only burning wood gas. This is the gassification burn that produces the least ash, re-burning both ash and smoke particles.

The heat is needed first to drive off the gas. It wont work if you shut it down before you have the stove and flue up to temp.

Give the ash pile a quick scrape but dont empty the ash bed on a wood burner!

I empty mine every 3/4 burns but i burn almost 8 hours a day every day and more at weekends. Tend not to use the heating much
