    Nope, I made a hydraulic splitter.

    That looks great with straight grained wood. I’m not so sure it would be as easy with the knotty stuff I usually have to split.

    I use a tyre – put several logs inside then chop ’em up.

    but as mentioned above, its easier to do with straight-grained poplar.

    But it’s also handy for keeping gnarly twisted crap in one place while you beat the crap out of it too.

    One of those times when 650B would be a disadvantage. You don’t want the splitting coming alive.

    I tried the tyre method for the first time yesterday afternoon. It works really well.
