£50 for shoes and bag? What is from a charity shop?
You have no idea how lucky you are.
Most of the girls I know don't batter an eyelid at £500+ for a pair of shoes.

You got off lightly with £50 for shoes and a bag. My gf buys about 4-5 pairs of shoes/boots a year, and 1-2 handbags; usually Mulberry or Radley IIR. Then there are jackets and all the other clothes, accessories, blah, blah.
Seems to be a "hobby" of hers.
You wait til she finds a store selling jimmy choos!
Hmm I'm thinking there are many parallels with biking gear here do you really need those triple compound nobby nic evo xxx gt tyres, that xtr yumeya kit, that second bike etc. I know it's not the same magnitude of money wasteage but it's all to easy to be a hypocritical bike tart.
I think we're all missing the point here:
She told him the shoes and bag cost £50. That's very different to them actually costing £50.
I'm waiting for a thread in a few days time when he checks the credit card statement and finds his wife has missed a zero off the end of the quoted price...
I bought some entry level hiking boots for £90 reduced from £120.
Thought I was being careful but wanted waterproof and snow hiking etc.
What Crazy-legs said!
Obviously a cheap wife, looks like you are right together.
Steady on b r.
I bet Chunnky told his wife it was the same bike but new paintwork and cleaned gears...
Doh!
Mr MC posting;
seeing it from your other half's perspective, she could (supposedly
) get a pair of shoes and a handbag for the price of a boring chain and cog that will get manky and wear out?
And how much were your cycling shoes+camelbak?
MC has the best of both worlds; pimpy bike stuff and Radley bags..
I go on the premise that my wife gets her hair cut at least once a month, at about 50 notes on average, more sometimes if it has to have a colour. As I am losing mine faster than its growing and now only get charged for a kids cut with my son, say 7 quid! That's 43 pound a month to spend on bike gear in my dreams!
Where is this olde world that you live?
I'd have to be one legged to start thinking about buying footwear for £50.
