Any suggestions for winter walking trousers.
Not talking major mountaineering, just coast and forest walks.
    Montane? Rab VR?
Thinking something windproof with water resistance rather than waterproof

I had some great ones from Columbia, lasted ages before I sadly lost them 😐

^^ Decathlon own brand is Quechua – not bad stuff and good value

I got a pair of the quechua trousers, I like them but they are a bloody odd shape (or I am)

I thought Craghoppers Kiwi in the various flavours were the obvious answer. Go Outdoors might have them cheaper some weeks, but Uttings seem to be consistently good price and not Mike Ashley. Winter lined version under £30.

Best ever winter trousers – Haglofs Rugged Mountain Pants

I have two pairs, they’re ridiculous good

I descended part of an Alpine scree slope on my bum, it was too dodgy to walk down (lots of snow too). Brush down at the bottom, not a mark on them

They’re really very good, I rate them highly. The main problem is they’re not cheap

Aldi do a softshell pair for £15, and a lightly insulated pair for about £9. They’re great for the money, free delivery and returns so well worth a punt.

Is this a current promo? Can’t see anything now.

I’ve got a pair of Berghaus Mens Ampezzo Softshell Pants in medium, sat under my desk which I keep meaning to put on Ebay.

VGC, I have three different winter weight soft shell trousers and can’t justify them all. Also have Rab Vapour rise trousers and another Rab softshell pair (can’t recall model).

I use Montane Super Terras. very comfortable, enough pockets, bit of wind and water resistance.

    Super terras warmer?
How warm is the standard terra?

Not warm at all really, totally different material. The super terras are a heavy material, terras very light and thin. Both great but the super terra is much warmer than the terra.

It was one of their “Special Buys” a week or 2 ago. I got some online but now it looks like they’re in store only.

    Soft shell

    Insulated
