I just got a call from a Chinese-sounding woman called “Dennis” who said she was from the Windows helpdesk and was calling about the problem I had on my computer.
I decided to play along and said “Great, yes, I have got a problem on my PC.”
This seemed to flummox her a bit and I went on to say “I was expecting you, I just put a call into the helpdesk and was waiting for the call”.
She repeated her opening gambit, I reassured her that yes, I had a problem and was ready for her to fix it, then there was silence, followed by
“Why are you being so cheeky?” and she terminated the call.
I think the next time that Indian chap, Martin Parkinson, I think his name is, calls and asks me about that accident I had, or that PPI I paid for, I might try being just as helpful to see what happens.
