Aaaargh….loosing the will to live with windows.
My 50gb ocz vertex drive gave up the ghost today.
So I bought a samsung 250gb model and thought I could restore onto it.

I have a separate 2tb d: drive with all my files and most programs installed on it, and i have a second 2tb drive that I have set to use windows own backup software to create backups and images of c: and d:

My motherboard is a gigabyte and my processor and amd x6 phenom jobby.

    Really flumoxed!

I cant do a restore from the boot disc (genuine win 7 home premium 64bit) as it gives some guff about BiOs versus EPI installation.
i currently have a clean install on the new samsung c: drive, but windows wont let me restore onto it from the image on the backup drive.

    What am I doing wrong?

Help, I cant be the first person to try and replace a knackered ssd with a bigger model and wish to restore from win7 backup files!

Dont tempt me! How can microsoft make something as basic as replacing a knackered SSD hard drive so difficult.
I have faith in the collective brains of Singletrack to answer though, never let me down yet!
