We’ve just had some new oak windows fitted with modern style sliding opening mechanisms. However, due to an oversight in their manufacture there is no facility for a “night lock” so the windows can’t be left open when the kids are about.

The frame isn’t wide enough to take a “double keeper” and I’m loathed to have them start hacking about.

Does anyone know of a restrictor that can be fitted to the mechanism that will allow restricted and full opening? I’ve seen the hook type thing, but that would involve work to the frame to fit it. I would have thought that something placed in the existing slide that can be disengaged when required would be available but I can’t find anything.
