We were riding the SSEC course in the FOD today and came across some Wild Boar with their little boarlets. Was really hard going as the ground was soft and loamy.

Been riding in the FOD for over 10years and this was only the 2nd time I've ever seen Wild Boar and the first time I've managed to get a pic!

I was more worried about scaring them off!! The fence wasn't sealed off so they could of got to us if they wanted to ;-0 Cooking it? Spit roast I think 😉

If I come across one of those at the SSEC, apart from wiping it off and saying sorry, I'm going to be the fastest bloomin hill climber ever 😯

    "Wild Boar II"
Sounds a bit like a remake of that 70's film
    "Wild Geese" 😆

Some of them are bigger than you might expect when you meet them. They tend to avoid human contact although there have been a few cases locally where dogs off leads have been attacked when there have been young boarlets (sic) around. When I've seen them they wander away, stopping to look back every now and again. There are a couple of 'scratching posts' in the woods where they obviously wallow in the mud and rub against a post, amazing sight!
FoD's an amazing place for wildlife: boar, deer, badgers, goshawks, peregrines, otter, as well as the more usual foxes, rabbits, etc.. Oh, and the sheep of course.

Those boar have no idea they came to being eaten.

If only that wasn't an electric fence I'd have been in there with a portable grill and a loaf of bread.

Fantastic pics – last time I was up at FOD I got a shock when I came across a group of boar – they all legged it quick though, no time for photos!

Wild, Wild, it looks livid too me.

On the south downs way? Really? I have heard they can be very aggressive? But is this just like the demonisation of wolves?
