so they are riding what they are used to and what they have used to smash the opposition in every event they’ve ridden them in. I know as professional riding it shouldn’t make a blind bit of difference what bike they ride, but these Pinarellos have been tuned to a state of perfection for these riders and to change them now IMHO would be a mistake.

Naaaa, the pinarellos are production bikes built for Jo public then Sky get paid to ride them. They’re stock off the shelf models (have to be for UCI regs). They might be prototype tested by Sky but they’ll still be contrained by what Pinarello reckon they can sell at a profit.

The UKSport bikes on the other hand are one offs built for the riders. Technicaly they’re production bikes to get arround the UCI regs but good luck getting hold of a replica of Wiggins bike before the Olympics. Hence they can use the best available technologies regardless of cost as they don’t need to wory about having to sell them to the public.
