Current wifi router is on its last legs. still need wifi in house for laptop/ipad etc. Son want to get his PS3 wired up so thought about powerline adaptors.
So is there a router that does both other than this netgear the reviews seem quite bad.
any other products to look at?

I'm not sure what you mean by "does both." Pretty much every router on the market accept both wired and wireless connections. The Powerline stuff doesn't have to be built in to the router.
What's up with the current one that's on its "last legs"?
the one I linked to doesn't require a plug to use the powerline its built in.
just trying to avoid the clutter of stuff at the plug.
On its last legs as it keeps dropping wifi and needs constant resetting, must have had it for over 6yrs.
tp link do some decent cheap powerline adapters, its what i use, do not expect to get full speed through them though, but unless your house wiring is a bit crap it will be better than wireless.
never used tp routers but should be ok, check out ebuyer or amazon.
