I’m after a new pair of SPDs.
I was wondering how wide are Giro shoes?

Also any bad or good experiences to share?

I love mine – I have 2 pairs – carbon to race and something very similar but not carbon to train.

    Comfy, stiff, good quality.

Width wise seem quite normal – similar to my Northwave boots, wider than Shimano.

I trashed the buckle in a crash – new pair of shoes under warranty.

I’d agree with above, wider than shimano, for sure. Comfortable and really well made.

Interesting, I’d have said my size 45 Carbides and Terraduros were narrower than my size 45 mo88, MW81 and am45s…

I’d say a little narrower than shimano also. Trying to sell some road ones that i didn’t get on with despite being the same size as shimano.

Surely you can’t get any narrower than Shimano? Do they size up small generally?

I’ve got some giro road shoes which sized accurately. They’re the HV version and suit my wide feet very well. I’ve found specialized too narrow in the past.

As Onzadog mentioned Giro do a normal fit and HV (high volume) fit

as well as suiting wider feet, the HV fit is also great for riders using custom footbeds with arch support and ITS wedges for foot correction, as both those elements can dramatically reduce internal shoe volume
