  • Width of your average taxi vs cardboard bike box?

Afternoon all, am in Sofia at the moment having just finished a slightly weird tour through Hungary, Serbia and Bulgaria. Not sure it’s a route I’d recommend on a road bike…

Anyway, managed to get myself a cardboard bike box after much searching the city and tomorrow will attempt to get said box to the airport. Does anyone happen to know if a large cardboard bike box will fit on the back seat of a standard taxi or am I going to have to try and find something bigger? Not planning to use public transport after some drama this morning where I nearly got arrested!

What standard is the taxi? Uk hackney or private hire rest of the world could be a merc Peugeot or skoda? Ask for a people carrier? Phone them and ask?

Fits in a “london taxi” type thing, or a converted merc vito type taxi.

Or in most mid sized cars with the back seat down.

I’ve got a Passat saloon and brought home a bike from Halfords in the box earlier this year no problem.
