Why is it that there are quite a few men who seem to have set themselves up as females on strava? I regularly see men’s names on the female leaderboards for local segments.

Curious as to how this happens. Any theories?

Maybe they are women using a fake name.

Maybe Strava utilises the phone’s selfie camera to automatically select the user’s gender, but can’t differentiate between boobs and moobs?

Also according to the technology apparently 80% of users are also in the third trimester
