No: analogue v pedant, more like (me being the pedant).

You can get analogue (but not analoguge) 24hr clocks and watches, but they still only go to 23:59. Give me back my minute you time thieves!

The first hour consists of minutes 0 to 59 (that’s 60 minutes)
The first hour is hour 0 (zero)
The second hour is hour 1.

    etc etc etc

They actually go up to 23:59:59.99, or have you forgotten that a minute has fifty-nine seconds, plus however many fractions of a second you want to sub-divide it into, so you’ve lost nothing. So there! 😛

    0:00 to 0:00 is 24 hours.

Every value the clock displays – all 1440 of them from 0:00 to 23:59 – is displayed for one minute. 1440 minutes is 24 hours.

It’s just zero-indexing. Start counting at 0 and count 24 integer values. You’ll reach 23. If each of those is an hour, that’s 24 hours.

Why aren’t you complaining that all the hours only have 59 minutes in them? You’re losing 24 minutes a day as well as your 24th hour. 😐

won’t mention leap seconds. think so far they’ve all been bonus ones (23:59:60 or 23:59:59 twice), and haven’t been short changed at all yet (ie 23:59:59 gets missed out).
