  • Why does snow stick to some tyres and not others?

As above. Out yesterday and the snow was being picked up by the rear tyre (fairly worn Bonty Jones) on one bike and thrown off in a fairly impressive rooster tail, and yet other bikes including mine (Mud X) stayed completely snow free.
Something to do with the big knobbles?

I think it's got something to do with the compound of the casing that doesn't have knobbles on it, as mud doesn't stick to Mud-X's either but it does to Highrollers and Ignitors, both not that good in mud

My Mud-Xs were well and truly covered with snow, not to the extent it compromised grip, but they weren't really shedding it.

As we railwaymen say, – the wrong type of snow. 🙂

It's all to do with initial dog egg layer that repels the snow 😉
