  • Why does sealant invalidate a UST warranty?

I purchased a Swalbe Racing Ralph for a pricely sum, then about 2 months later with only 10 rides on it…kaboom. The sidewall has gone so that it no longer holds air as a USE tyre.
Referring this to the supplier, and according to their website, using sealant( as I had- just Stans) invalidates the warranty
    Why should this be?
They are passing it back to the manufacturer, but are not hopeful of replacement….expensive grrr…

ammonia in the sealant can cause delamination of the tires layers ….

Thanks- guess any sealant used in plugging small holes would have have access to the structure of the tyre. Still annoying tho'

I had a Nobby Nic UST that wouldn't hold air and was told by Schwalbe that it should be used with sealant!

    I now just use Maxxis.
