The Guardian has a section in the sports(mondays I think) where they ask "what's rocking sport?"(or something like that). Without fail, the answers seem to involve some of the worst middle of the road tosh ie James Blunt, Trance compilations etc. I look back to my career in rugby and cringe at the thought of some of the music played on the coach. Do these people not have the ability to think for themselves and choose something a little more interesting?

all music is cool to somebody. To be without it, no matter how bland or painful it sounds to others, would be unbearable for me.

could quite easily say the music you like is crap, it is called personnel preference. Some like Abba, some Mozart, if we all liked the same thing life would be boring.
